I recently attended a meeting during my conference hour involving a little-known program called PAINT.net. In the past, if I wanted to edit a picture or graphic, I would have used Microsoft Paint, or if I was using a friend's computer, Adobe Photoshop. As you know, the Adobe programs offer a plethora of options and Paint is so basic it's almost unusable.
But there is another program that is in between the quality of Adobe and Paint, and that's PAINT.net. Best of all, it's free.
This program allows me to edit family Chistmas pictures, my own wedding pictures, and of course picture that I download that need editing for one reason or another. More importantly, it allows my students to edit graphics and JPEGS and such. This opens a doorway that had previously been locked forever! So I'm excited about learning how to operate this new program and demonstrating to my students its usefulness. Now it's up to me to incorporate the program in my lesson plans.
The website for PAINT.net is here.
Below is an example of what the program can do!
